No pronouns: how to refer to someone by name only
Use the name where a pronoun would go. The rest is rephrasing, and it gets easy quickly.

In a sentence
- Robin is running late, so start without Robin.
- I borrowed Robin's charger this morning.
- The yellow raincoat is Robin's.
- Robin made dinner without any help.
- Ask Robin about the trip. Robin was there.
What it means
Some people do not want any pronoun used for them and prefer their name instead. Pronoun guides from UW-Milwaukee and Vassar College both describe it: use the name where you would otherwise say he, she or they.
It is not a fringe choice. In the 2025 Gender Census, 14.4% of respondents chose avoiding pronouns or using their name, the fifth most common answer after they, he, she and it.
People have their own reasons, and nobody owes you one.
How to do it
Repeat the name. It sounds odd to you for a few days, and then it does not. In writing it reads perfectly well.
Where the name starts to pile up, rephrase. Pronouns.page collects the usual moves: use an initial; use the passive (the phone was answered); rewrite the sentence (Lior did it without any help); use a description (my friend, the pilot); or drop the pronoun when the sentence works without it (did you buy Tex a gift?).
Reflexives are the one place English has no tidy answer. Nobody says "Robin made it for Robin's self". Say "Robin made it without help" or "Robin did it alone" instead.
They is not a neutral shortcut
The easy way out is to slide into they. For someone who uses no pronouns, they is still a pronoun, so it is not a neutral fallback. Unless you have been told otherwise, stick to the name.
