What's new in the app
Every visible change to T4TSpace, week by week: what changed, and why, written for the people who use it.
This page lists the changes you can see or feel in the app, newest first. Behind-the-scenes work (security, monitoring, speed) only appears when it changes something for you.
Version 1.0.0, Android, 8 October 2026
Photos no longer stop loading. On Android, after a few dozen profiles, images could stop appearing, and adding a photo of your own could fail, until you closed the app and opened it again. Each image is now prepared at the size it is actually shown, so the phone no longer runs out of room for them.
Emails about likes, matches and messages have been redesigned. They still name nobody, show no photo and repeat nothing of what anyone wrote: a mailbox is sometimes read over a shoulder.
Week of 5 October 2026
A selfie sent without a main photo gets an answer straight away. Your selfie is compared with your main photo, so without one there is nothing to compare it to. Instead of waiting for a moderator, you are now told immediately what is missing, and it is not a refusal.
If your profile stopped appearing for lack of a photo, you are reminded. A few times at most, spaced out, then we stop. Adding a photo where your face can be seen brings you back straight away.
An account left unfinished is reminded once. If you signed up and stopped before the end, you get one message saying what is still missing. One only.
2 October 2026, the Android app arrives on Google Play
T4TSpace is now on Google Play, in 112 countries. It is not offered where the law or the police target trans people, because an installed dating app can be found when a phone is searched: the reasoning and the full list are on Where the app is offered. The website stays open everywhere, and it is not risk-free.
Week of 28 September 2026
An expired confirmation link now sends you a new one. Clicking a link that had expired used to be a dead end, with nothing to do but find the settings. It now sends a fresh link to the same address, once.
One email per person waiting, not one per selfie. Retaking your selfie no longer sends a new alert each time, so the people who decide are not reading the same thing four times.
Week of 21 September 2026
An email address with an accent is explained, not just refused. An address like prénom@example.com cannot be used, and the app used to answer that it did not look like an address at all, which was untrue. It now says what the problem is and offers the same address without accents, in one tap.
An address that is already registered offers a button to sign in, instead of a sentence telling you to go and do it.
Your precise location is no longer requested. The app asks only for the approximate location it needs to sort people by distance.
A photo that stayed grey after being changed now appears straight away.
Week of 14 September 2026
A photo that shows your face is now part of signing up. Before the verification selfie, you add a main photo where your face can be seen, and the person who checks your selfie makes sure both show the same person. If your face cannot be seen, that is not a refusal: you are told, you add a photo that shows it, and you take a new selfie. Every verified member sees your main photo, and each of your other photos keeps its own setting.
Week of 8 September 2026
Typos in email addresses are caught. If you type an address like name@gamil.com, the app suggests the fix before creating your account. If our emails to your address are being rejected, the app now tells you so and lets you change the address. Until now, a single typo could leave an account unable to open.
Someone new near you. When a newly verified person joins within 100 km, verified members nearby get a notification, at most once every three days. You can turn it off in Settings.
A photo to retake is not a refusal. When a verification selfie cannot be used (a black screen, a face that is not visible, a blurry or dark picture), you are told which of these it was and can simply take another. The camera also stops you from sending a black photo taken before it has started.
Accounts open once the email address is confirmed. Your account opens when your selfie is accepted and your address is confirmed, whichever comes last. You can turn on notifications from the start to hear the moment it happens.
Withdrawing your selfie now asks, optionally, why. It helps us see what gets in the way.
Portuguese is now Brazilian Portuguese throughout the app, the site and our emails.
No more demonstration profiles. The profiles shown at launch to give an idea of the app were hidden on 10 September and deleted on 14 September. Every profile you see is a real person who has been verified.
Photos load faster. Photos are resized when you upload them, and their orientation is corrected.
Buttons that cannot be pressed say why. On the sign-up form and on personals, a missing field is circled in red with the reason next to it.
Something not working? A short report form is on the sign-up and sign-in screens, so you can tell us even before you have an account.
Week of 31 August 2026
Verification before seeing anyone. Every account is checked by a person before it can see other profiles, and the selfie is deleted the moment a decision is made.
You hear the outcome. You get an email when your verification is decided, whichever way it goes.
The selfie is now part of signing up, rather than something to find later in the settings.
A few words on why you are here, and three commitments (no questions about bodies, no hunting for deadnames, no categories) are asked of everyone at sign-up, one by one.
An honest counter. The number of people near you is the real one, even when it is small.
Personals reach further. Text personals are no longer limited to the people in your radius, and their feed shows no faces.
Launch, 22 to 25 August 2026
T4TSpace opened in the browser with: people near you, sorted by distance; likes, matches and real-time messages; profiles where every field has its own visibility; photos, voice notes and profile questions; text-first personals; a discreet mode; blocking that is instant and mutual; reports read by a person; notifications; and verification by a selfie that is deleted on decision.
The site and the app became available in seven languages on 24 August.
