Age verification
Why we ask, and what we keep.
T4TSpace is for adults. Age assurance is required for services like this in the United Kingdom and in France, and it is the right thing to do regardless of where the law applies.
Where we are today
Creating an account requires an explicit statement that you are 18 or over. We record the date and the exact wording you agreed to. That is a declaration, not a check, and we are not going to describe it as more than it is.
Two things happen beyond that declaration, and they are checks. The year of birth you enter is refused by the server if it would make you under 18. And no account sees anyone before a person has looked at a selfie and compared it to the profile: an account that presents as a minor does not pass that step.
What comes next
A one-time age check when you sign up, run by a verification provider. We receive a yes or a no and the date it happened, nothing else.
What we will not keep
Not the document, not the image. We store the year you were born, because your age is shown on your profile unless you hide it. Nothing beyond that.
