Where it comes from

The flag was posted on 10 October 2017 by the Tumblr blog non-aligned-sapphic, presented as a simple idea and first under the name orbisian, a parallel word for the same experience. The meanings above are the designer's. It has become the most commonly used trixic flag.

A version with a symbol joining the non-binary symbol and the Venus symbol also circulates. Its origin is not documented.

The word

Trixic was coined in a Discord server and posted on Tumblr in July 2017, for a non-binary person attracted to women, exclusively or not. Some non-binary people attracted to women prefer to call themselves lesbians, and both are valid. Its counterpart for attraction to men is toric.
