Where it comes from

The flag was posted on 17 October 2017 by the Tumblr blog diamoricmlm-and-nblm, based on the trixic flag posted a week earlier. The meanings of the stripes are the designer's.

The designer offered two colour options and said they preferred the second, with a powder blue and a brighter green. The first, shown here, is the one most often reproduced.

The word

Toric was coined in the same Discord server as trixic and posted on Tumblr in July 2017, for a non-binary person attracted to men, exclusively or not. Its counterpart for attraction to women is trixic.
