A nonbinary person attracted to men.
Toric describes a nonbinary person who is attracted to men and masculine people. It is the counterpart of trixic, and it exists for the same reason: gay and achillean both imply something about the speaker's own gender.
Together with trixic and diamoric it forms a small set built specifically for nonbinary people who want to name a direction of attraction without also making a claim about themselves.
It does not replace gay, and nonbinary people who use gay are not using it incorrectly. Both options exist because people want different things from a word.
The three words are relatively recent and not widely known outside nonbinary communities, which means using one usually comes with a short explanation.
Toric is an option, not a replacement for gay
It is occasionally presented as what nonbinary people should say instead of gay, which is not how anyone in these communities uses it.
Plenty of nonbinary people are gay and say so. Toric exists for those who want the word to describe only the direction of attraction.
