Neutrois
A neutral or null gender, often with a wish for a neutral body.
Neutrois describes a gender that is neutral or null. It overlaps heavily with agender and genderless, and what distinguishes it for many people who use it is that it often comes with a desire for a physically neutral body rather than only a neutral social presentation.
The word predates most of the current nonbinary vocabulary, having circulated since the 1990s, which is why it turns up in older writing and among people who transitioned before the newer terms existed.
Not every neutrois person wants medical transition, and not every one who does wants the same things. The word names a gender, not a treatment plan.
Neutrois is not a medical category
Because the word often comes with a wish for a neutral body, it gets read as a diagnosis or a treatment path. It is a description of gender, and what any given person wants medically is separate.
It also predates the newer vocabulary rather than deriving from it, which is worth knowing when it appears in older texts.
