Trans for trans — trans people seeking each other, on purpose.
T4T stands for trans for trans. It comes from the personals columns and Craigslist ads where the four in for did the work, and it marks a deliberate preference: a trans person looking for other trans people.
It's less about ruling others out than about what's present. Being with someone who has also navigated transition means a shared vocabulary, a shared set of assumptions, and no need to explain the basics — or to brace for the moment the explanation goes badly.
T4T isn't only romantic or sexual. It describes friendships, chosen family and whole communities built on the same principle.
It's also the whole premise of this app. Everyone here is trans, so T4T isn't a filter you switch on — it's the room you're standing in.
