Skoliosexual

Attraction to trans and non-binary people — and a word many trans people reject.

Skoliosexual was coined to describe attraction specifically to trans and non-binary people. You'll find it in glossaries and identity quizzes, and some people use it sincerely for themselves.

It's also genuinely contested, and we'd rather say so than pretend otherwise. Many trans people read it as naming a category of person to be attracted to rather than a person — which is close to the experience of being treated as a type instead of someone, and that experience has a name most trans people would rather avoid.

There's also an etymological problem: skolio- comes from the Greek for bent or crooked, which sets trans people against an implied straight norm.

We include it because people search for it and deserve a straight answer. On this app, attraction to trans people isn't a category we cater to — everyone here is trans, which makes the question moot by design.
