Free trans dating apps: what free actually buys you

Every app here is free to install. The question worth asking is whether anything that protects you sits behind the paywall.

Free trans dating app is a search with a trap in it, because all five apps in this comparison answer yes. Every one of them has a free tier, and every one of them makes its money from subscriptions layered on top.

So the useful question is not whether an app is free but what the free tier withholds, and in particular whether the withheld thing is a convenience or a protection. Everything below comes from each app's own public listing, checked on 21 August 2026.

Free to install is not free to use

The standard model in this category is a free tier that lets you make a profile and browse, with limits on the things that make an app usable: how many people you can see, how many messages you can send, whether you can tell who liked you.

That is ordinary and not in itself a problem. A dating app costs money to run, and charging for reach is a defensible way to cover it.

The line worth watching

There is a difference between paying for reach and paying for safety. Charging for unlimited likes is a business model. Putting verification, blocking, incognito or visibility controls behind a subscription means the people most exposed to harm are the ones asked to pay to reduce it, and that is a different kind of decision.

Read the money column above against the safety column beside it. Fiorry lists photo verification on every profile rather than as a tier, and HER lists blocking and reporting as core rather than premium, while its incognito mode is a paid feature. Those distinctions matter more than the headline price.

What we could not verify, and will not guess

Four of the five apps list in-app purchase prices without saying what duration each price buys. We have reproduced the figures and refused to convert them into monthly costs, because that conversion would be a guess presented as a fact. Translr is the exception and publishes durations.

Prices also differ by country and change without notice. Whatever you read here, check the listing on your own store before relying on a number.

Where we stand in this

We publish our prices, we are not charging anyone today, and the first thousand verified accounts stay free while they are active. We would rather say that plainly than describe ourselves as free and quietly add a paywall later.

Nothing that protects you will ever sit behind a subscription here. Verification is the condition of entry rather than a badge you buy, which means it cannot be a premium feature without the product stopping being what it is.
