Aporagender
A gender that is strong and specific, and not male, female or between.
Aporagender describes having a strong and specific gender that is not male, female or anywhere between them. The Greek prefix apora means separate, and the separateness is the definition.
It is close to maverique and the two are often explained together. The usual distinction offered is that aporagender emphasises the strength and specificity of the gender, while maverique emphasises its independence from the usual axis.
It is not agender, and the difference matters to people who use it: there is a gender, it is definite, and it is simply not locatable on the map most people are using.
Aporagender is not the absence of a gender
Because it cannot be located on the familiar axis, it is read as nothing being there, which is the opposite of what the word says.
The gender is described as strong and specific. What is absent is a shared vocabulary for it, not the gender.
